This website is fantastic,  Good move. I'm looking forward to live music, hopefully soon.  Live streams keep me on life support.

Shane T.

thank you!

Shane - very nice to see the forums up and running. As a kid growing up I always loved "live" albums - seemed to give me some sense of the energy. And after a year of not hearing live music I need it back in my life - right ?

Some memorable ones for me:

  • Allman Brothers - At Fillmore East
Larry Carlton - Mr 335 Live In Japan
Humble Pie - Performance Rockin The Fillmore
Neville Brothers - Live At Tiptina's (yes big Neville fan)
Jeff Beck With The Jan Hammer Group Live
    Edgar Winters White Trash Roadwork
    Woodstock
Nighthawks - Live At The Psyche Delly
Little Feat - Waiting On Columbus
Emerson Lake Palmer - Welcome Back my friends
    The Band - Last Waltz
Rory Gallagher - Irish Tour 74
    Yes - Yessongs

The vinyl is gone but the memories are forever.

great records!  That looks like the Tower on Sunset in west Hollywood. I drive past there sometimes..... I forget what it is now.

Singles happened first for me, usually on a battery powered AM radio or on any one of the 70s TV variety shows, these are tatottoed on my brain:

Classical Gas (Mason Williams)

Wichita Lineman (Glen Campbell)

Feels So Good (Chuck Mangione with the most excellent Grant Geissman)

Secret Agent Man (Johnny Rivers)

Breezin' (George Benson)

My Sweet Lord (Harry on that gorgeous slide)

Real guitarists! On the radio!!!

EDIT: Too many dead brain cells, and of course:

Also Sprach Zarathustra (John Tropea, Ron Carter AND Stanley Clarke)
