Finally, my new solo record, Still Motion is here and available for download and/or purchase CD's. This is my 4th record and I'm very proud of it. It's a first for me in that it is a trio based record. I created these tracks centered around 3 rhythm sections--
1.Los Angeles, (Jim Keltner- the legendary session drummer makes his 2nd appearance on my music since the last one- Dirty Power.)
2.New Orleans- with the solid section of Johnny Vidacovich drums and James Singleton on upright bass, and
3.Austin- Kirk Covington (Tribal Tech/Joe Zawinul) drums and Chris Maresh (Eric Johnson) on bass. Nate Wood from Kneebody also guested on one tune "Big Wig".
Hear why Guitar Player Magazine called Still Motion"a beautiful record that's rich with dynamics, grooves and inventive playing- all with room to breathe. Theriot's big tones and unexpected note choices are the glue that holds it all together.
This is a special record for me and I hope you will enjoy it!
I'm proud to say that the record I produced and played on with the legendary Jo-El Sonnier took home a Grammy award. I'm proud of the work we did on the record and so grateful to have won my first Grammy. Check out Jo- El Sonnier at his site here.
